Tijuana Flats emerged from bankruptcy just in time for its 30th birthday, and they were ready to celeberate. Coinciding with Cinco de Mayo — the biggest holiday for the company — the art direction was clear: let’s throw a fiesta that can translate to both celebrations. 

Tijuana Flats is a millenial, so how would they celebrate a birthday? With a tinsel wall for photos, a watermelon cake, friendship bracelets, and, of course, a few sparkles. The scene was set, a Tijuana Flats was ready to party.

New street tacos took center stage, and a watermelon agua fresca was the perfect way to cheers Tijuana Flats’ 30th year. At the same time, Flats offered a free drink with the purchase of a street taco trio in order to raise further awareness of the new offering and drive sales in a “meal deal” heavy industry.
